Today’s inspiration board is all about classic contemporary interiors. Since my last visit to France almost 3 years ago, I have not stopped dreaming about living in a 17th century classical style building. In awe of their beautiful ornate skirting and moldings and it’s high ceilings with detailed parquet flooring, I mean what’s not to love right? It definitely fulfills my childhood fantasy of being in a princess and living in a palace with my prince charming.
I’ve pulled some images from my Pinterest board to share with you. It shows the perfect balance of classic interiors contrasted with more modern and contemporary furniture and accessories, the mix is incredibly Parisian. I would love to implement this classic cool and sophisticated style into my dream home one day. Dream big they say… scroll down for some inspiring interiors that will make you dream like a kid again.
I love the mix of dark and light in this space, the table contrasts beautifully with the light oak herringbone floors. The chairs adds a beautiful pop of colour to this otherwise neutral space.
Masculine meets feminine – the detailing and moldings adds enough interest and charm to these grey walls, no artwork needed here!
Playing with soft curved shapes adds to the contemporary influence in this space. The pendant mimics the coffee tables and also the rounded occasional chair. How cool is the classic inspired scatter cushion on the sofa… a nice touch!
A more effortless approach to styling, the contrast created with the straw bench in such a clean space gets me excited. A yes from me!
Clean, crisp and layered – texture on texture is what I love about this space. With a neutral palette there is just much you can do to add interest.
Green, green and more green – I’m really enjoying foliage in interiors, it makes a space feel alive don’t you think? I just had to add this gorgeous drink cart into the list, it gives me that Great Gatsby feeling.
Something a little different – I absolutely love the contrast of dark masculine art and feminine interior architecture. So very different from many contemporary classic spaces I’ve seen.
Ok, lets just take a moment and enjoy this gorgeous setting. You may all know I love deep green, this sofa is just to die for!
Wow! Talk about dining in style! I love the subtle introduction of pastel colours into the space. You may have noticed the trend of adding a rug with a contrasting style into these classic spaces. It looks well curated and adds a pop of interest.
Probably one of my favourite spaces, I absolutely love the ornate detailing and high ceilings. This room tells a story of glamour and finesse, the square contemporary sofa in acid green adds a bright pop of colour. I also really love the pops of black in the accessories and lighting. So stylish!
I hope you guys feel inspired to dream big…
